Room basic but spacious (I'd booked a single but given a twin) Reading lamp didn't work so only had main light but no real issue for one night. Would recommend and use again. First visit to Uni of York - what a lovely site in general!!!

Mrs Alicia Broggi (James College, University of York, September 2012): My whole stay at James College was lovely, particularly because of the fantastic service. I arrived about an hour early, but was let into my (clean) room. The kitchen staff went above and beyond my expectations to accommodate my dietary preferences. Then, I was even a bit late in checking out, and while the house keeping staff arrived punctually, they insisted that I not feel rushed and seemed to clean the other rooms on the hall before mine. Indeed, each interaction I had with the staff was marked by friendliness and helpfulness.

Mr Declan Baugh (James College, University of York, September 2012): Nice place. Cheap. Small room, but it is what i expected as it were student dorms. Nice big english breakfast included.

Dr Saqib Hasan (James College, University of York, September 2012): Very helpful staff - provided breakfast in a bag during month of fasting to allow me something to eat when I could. Shower is a little funny as it sends water everywhere (its a wetroom) but takes a while to dry. Walls paper-thin. But generally good experience.

Miss Emma Whitney (Halifax College, University of York, September 2012): I had a lovely stay at Halifax College. My room was very spacious and all staff at the Reception were very friendly.

Mr iain brander (Franklin House, York, August 2012): Myself and the wife stayed at franklin house on our visit to york. It was peaceful, the room very clean and tidy with all usual facilities. The security and staff on the complex were very helpful.we didn't have a breakfast so can't comment on that. Overall an excellent stay and would stay again, i recomend this complex as good as premier inns

Ms Christina Brindley (James College, University of York, August 2012): Amazing value for money. The food available to guests at Vanbrugh College is also great. The vegetarian dishes were some of the nicest I've eaten anywhere and I eat out a lot. My compliments to the chef! Never has a work trip been made more enjoyable.

Mr Kirit Talati (James College, University of York, August 2012): This was a birthday treat from my daughter who accompnied me. We enjoyed our stay at James College. All people we came across were very helpful and welcomming. We loved the university atmosphere. We were very pleased to find that library facility was availble when it was raining We certainly recommend the accomodation as an excellent value for the money.
